چکیده
The use of lignocellulosic biomass to obtain biofuels and chemicals produces a large amount lignin as byproduct. Lignin valorization into needs efficient conversion processes be developed. In this work, hydrocracking organosolv was performed by using nickel Raney catalyst. Organosolv obtained from the pretreatment eucalyptus wood at 170 °C for 1 h 1/100/100 (w/v/v) ratio biomass/oxalic acid solution (0.4% w/w)/1-butanol. resulting organic phase in 1-butanol used hydrogenation tests. carried out with batch reactor equipped 0.3 L vessel adjustable internal stirrer heat control. pressurized 5 bar hydrogen room temperature, then temperature raised 250 kept 30 min. Operative conditions were optimized achieve high monomers minimize loss solvent. At best performance conditions, about 10 wt % solubilized monomeric phenols. need find trade-off between solvent side reaction highlighted.

Selective hydrogenation of menthone on Raney nickel catalyst
The present study deals with the selective hydrogenation of menthone to menthol in a Parr reactor. The reactions are carried out in the temperature range of 100-200°C, pressure range of 5-20 kg/cm, 100 mL solvent and catalyst to substrate ratio ranging from 0-10% for a reaction time of 4-5 h. The samples are then analyzed using a gas chromatograph for determining the conversion and then selecti...
متن کاملAntioxidant Activity of Organosolv Lignin Degraded Using SO4/ZrO2 as Catalyst
Organosolv lignin degradation was carried out through hydrogenolysis routes with SO4/ZrO2 as the catalyst. Structural characterization and antioxidant activity of organosolv lignin samples were investigated; the antioxidant activity of the organosolv lignin was compared with that of soda lignin. Results showed that the active functional groups contents of organosolv lignin were increased, and t...
متن کاملLow-Power Microwave Radiation-assisted Depolymerization of Ethanol Organosolv Lignin in Ethanol/Formic Acid Mixtures
Ethanol organosolv lignin separated from bamboo was depolymerized by low-power microwave radiation (~80 W) using ethanol as a swelling agent and formic acid as a hydrogen donor solvent. After increasing the temperature from 100 to 200 °C, the total amount of phenolic compounds in the products increased from 8.1% to 40.8%, and both the weight average molecular weight (Mw) and number average mole...
متن کاملKraft Lignin Depolymerization in an Ionic Liquid without a Catalyst
In this paper, the depolymerization of lignin was successfully achieved by the thermal treatment of kraft lignin in butyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec7-enium chloride ([DBUC4][Cl]) without a catalyst. The thermal treatment experiments were performed in an oven at 150, 200, and 250 °C for 1 h. The changes in kraft lignin structure over the course of depolymerization were characterized by gel per...
متن کاملRaney-nickel Catalysts Produced by Mechanical Alloying
Raney catalysts were prepared by a combination of mechanical alloying and leaching as an alternative in the synthesis of Raney-Nickel catalysts. Binary Al-Ni and ternary Al-Ni-Fe alloys with nominal compositions Al65Ni35, Al75Ni25, Al65Ni30Fe5, Al75Ni20Fe5 (in atomic percent), were processed from pure elemental powders; they consisted mainly of the intermetallic B2 AlNi phase. Aluminum was sele...
